Essential Job Responsibilities
- Development of Client Projects (50%–70% effort) – As a learned professional, routinely use advanced knowledge gained from doctoral-level education, biopharmaceutical industry experience, and professional judgment to be individually responsible for collaborating and consulting with Medical Affairs clients to develop professional-looking and rigorous scientific assets. These include slide presentations, standard response letters, scientific training, etc; see our brief capability overview at https://www.bit.ly/wesleybrief. Success will depend on ability to align with scientific strategy, develop content flow, select/interpret/evaluate medical literature, maintain content accuracy, work expertly with PowerPoint, design content layout, align to style guide and client preferences, and support MRC review – with resourcefulness and tact and meet / exceed client expectations.
- Lead for Client Projects (20%–30% effort) – As a learned professional and based on professional judgment, lead project development team consisting of content developers, designers, and support personnel, and finalize output to meet client and internal expectations. Success will depend on ability to identify tasks and resources, solve issues, coach, manage timelines and expectations, and complete various parts of projects to meet/exceed client expectations.
- Peer Quality Control and Assistance (5%–10% effort) – As a learned professional and based on professional judgment, efficiently review project drafts from teammates and provide helpful feedback on content and style, as well as assist team members in their projects. Success will depend on quality of timely feedback, time management skills, skill in developing client projects, and willingness to help.
- Account Development (5% effort, high impact) – Develop professional relationships within assigned accounts to ensure client satisfaction across projects, identify opportunities for future projects with existing and potential clients within the account, and develop project proposals.

Minimum Requirement
- Citizen or permanent resident of the United States, legally allowed to work in the United States
- Excellent written US English and fluent, easy-to-understand conversational US English
- US PharmD degree (or US PhD degree in a relevant field with demonstrated ability to assimilate sufficient medical knowledge in any therapeutic area sufficient to tackle a client project with 1 day preparation)
- Intermediate+ PowerPoint skills, including professional-looking scientific charts and object alignment
- Excellent content interpretation and selection skills from medical journals
- Worked 3 of past 7 years in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company in these capacities – Medical/Scientific Communications and/or MSL, or 3 years in a medical communications agency where the focus was in developing scientific content at the Medical Affairs level
- Hands-on experience as a primary developer of at least 3 PowerPoint slide decks in typical Medical Affairs quality, suitable for typical external HCP presentations
- Experience (or demonstrated interest) in leading scientific project development and/or growing a client account in the biopharmaceutical sector
